Which 17" for good desktop graphic?

Hello,

which 17" lcd do you recommend for desktop use mostly?
I need dvi, good color interpretation (web design), crisp desktop picture and occasionaly some gaming...

Selection sofar:
Samsung 172t, 173t, 172x, 173p
NEC 1760NX
Hyundai Q17

Any suggestions?

Yes, FPS games, but very rarely... so for games I don't need perfection, but still I wouldn't mind if there was no ghosting on movies and games..
Color interpretation is major quality that I'm looking for.

so forget the Samsungs, they have sometimes a little yellow touch, that s*ckz.
The Hyundai ist ok, but not good. The NEC is very nice for your working areas. But what do you think about the ACER AL 1731m, perfect for games and very well for grafic works.

The bad thing is that I can't see and test this Acer model in our shops (and seeing the monitor before buying is essential for me).
So you are saying that NEC would beat Samsung on desktop area (colors, crisp picture..)?

What about LGs, 1710B and 1720B?

The NEC is in my opinion better as the Samsung.

I don´t like LK products, cause of the service and the politics. What I can tell you: the german users are quit happy with the 1720B.

I know that much german, eventhough it's quite far from high school...;)

I'll dig into those reviews, hope they will help with my decision.

Acer and Benq are sister companies.

What do you think about Iiyama 431S ?

My personal opinion? Good, but the 1731 is a bit better. But I tested the 431 around 20minutes, not that long for a full picture.

Out of the german section: the people, players, are happy with the 431, sometimes some ghost-pictures, but not that often.

Can I have 2 more quick opinions?

The LG is not good for graphic works: crystall effect.

Benq TFTs are equal to the Acer TFTs. I think this is a good choice

I am a proud Acer 1721 user now...;)
Thanks for advice, really nice picture an an overall good perfoming monitor, but (there's always a but), on a completely black screeen I have quite a few colored dead pixels. It must be more than 10 of them if I look closely, they are tiny and only seen on black background..and they appeared after few hours of work.

So is that a normal thing or should I start worrying how to turn back the display?
btw: I couldn't find Acer's dead pixel policy...
