So, if I understand it correctly, one in every three images is black. This would effectively reduce the usable Hz rate to two thirds, which is 40 Hz?
I am not too amazed by this.
I can already hear gamers complaining about it, as most of them have been saying that 60 Hz is not enough to begin with.
What's so hard about breaking this 60/75 Hz barrier in LCDs anyway?

"to tear" = reissen) dargestellt.

What you are describing sounds like this sort of "transparent shadow" effect of edges that I seem to keep getting whenever I have to use D-Sub VGA connection instead of DVI.
I assume you have already tried "Auto-Adjust", by which this can be usually fixed to some degree(?).
A quick board search revealed that nobody in the german board section reported any issues similar to yours. -

I must admit I do have seen worse backlight bleeding than this. However, since Eizo's customer service is known for being very fair on such matters, I'd recommend emailing these pictures to your local Eizo support contact. They just might exchange it for you on-site.
As to brightness:
If your screen is still too bright at 0% setting, you can further reduce brightness by toning down each of the three RGB color channels red, green and blue by the same amount. -
IMO this borders on fraud. If they are unable to provide the right model (which they promised to in the contract of sale), the general rule of conduct is to first inform and ask the customer if sending a different model would be acceptable.
If I were you, I would try to get monetary compensation for the inconveniences and loss of time that this blatant attempt to deceive gullible customers may have caused you. -
bummer
maybe you can exchange it for the right model.
Did you order the right model name and the shop confused the models? -

Hi!
There's no need to apologize for anything. Everyone is welcome here! =)Could you take close-up pictures of both the brightness uniformity (in a dark room with the monitor displaying a black picture) and the font problem and then post them here?

Dell 1907FP (review will be up soon)
Shuttle XP17 TempAG V2 (review will be up soon)
VX922
AMW M199D
Among what we have reviewed so far, the color reproduction of the four models above shows some improvements over previous generations of TN panel monitors.Maybe you can find the 8ms version of the "AOC LM929" which supposedly has an MVA panel, too (not sure though). In Germany it retails for 220 Euros only, making it the cheapest 19 inch monitor to feature 8ms, 800:1, and DVI.
TN panels pretty much dominate the LCD market with their low production costs, so it's hard to say anything about the vast amount of different TN monitors models out there as only a handful of them will ever show up in reviews.
Perhaps the new TN panel monitors by LG might be worth looking into
They promise high (artificially produced) contrast ratios above 1000 and wide viewing angles of up to 170 (5:1). Although there might have been some improvements, it is still more marketing than it is anything of a serious competition to VA panels.L1950B, DVI - 700:1 - 8ms 170°/170°
L1940PQ, DVI - 700:1 - 4ms 170°/170°
L1932P, DVI - 700:1 - 4ms 170°/170°
L1970HQ, DVI - 2000:1 - 4ms 160°/160°Similarly, there are some new TN models by Philips
190B7...
190S7...For what it's worth, contrast and viewing angle specifications are increasingly turning into PR fairy tales in the same way response times have been all along. I can't wait till a new ISO standard puts an end to this.
It's like somebody in the marketing department suddenly went: "Hey guys, fooling customers with false response times hasn't been that hard, right? Let's do the same with angles and contrast! You know, people will totally go along with it!" - whole office cheering: "Yeaah! Great idea! Give him a raise!"anyway, I'm ranting...
good luck

hmm, for prices below 2300 the shops you've listed offer TN panels only.
I don't know about this shop but since it is linked to from the official Acer Eastern Euope Website, it seems reasonably trustworthy.
It has the Xerox XA7-19i 8ms within your price range. The only problem I see with this monitor is that supposedly there are versions with TN panel and VA panel available while both bear the exact same model name ?(. So you'd have to call and have them confirmed to you that what you are buying will definitely be the VA panel version.
Other than that... hmmm, maybe you can find some international LCD monitor seller on ebay? -
could you post a list of all monitor models or online shops that are available to you?

you know, why settle for something good "enough" when you can have something better?Zitatbtw u say Xerox? what about the glass on them? heard that it makes colours look bad
some say so, others claim the opposite. probably a matter of taste. some find colors to be more 'crisp' on the Xerox and attribute this to colors being polarized when they pass through the glass pane.
Reflections can be annoying though. So it depends on your setup at home too (postion of your desk relative to the window). -

and what do u think I should go for 940B or BEnQ 91G+? for movies and games
You'll be able to enjoy games and movies on these monitors, too. No doubt.
But you know how the saying goes: "better is the enemy of good" -

btw I meant black colour on MVA based monitors like 91GP
Well, reversing the perspective from TN to MVA: the same quality gap remains: VA panels generally have a huge advantage in terms of black level. However, there are factors such as backlight etc. that can even set MVA panels apart from each other in this regard.Overdrive-accelerated MVA/PVA displays in this price range:
Acer Office Line AL1923s
Xerox XA7-19i "8ms version" (avoid other versions)
Belinea 101915 (111921)
FP91GPtip:
On the other hand, in case you are going for a TN display in the end, try to get your hands on the 940BW (widescreen) instead of the 940B (4:3), since it will not only suit your movie needs better but is also cheaper at 269 Euro (german price) while at the same time being faster at 4ms. -
the thing about the whole TN vs. VA issue is that, by going for a TN monitor, you will sacrifice a lot image quality for getting only a little more speed in return.
Zitathow's the black colour?
poor black level is one of the weaknesses of TN panels. -
Hi,
In case you're not a hardcore gamer of first person shooters, VA type panels (+Overdrive) are probably going to serve your needs a lot better, particularly since you mentioned DVD/movies.My aproach would be to look up all the monitors that are available in your country, shortlist the ones that have MVA or PVA panels with Overdrive (recognizable by 8ms response time) and then go by price/ availability / (maybe addtional features?) to pick one of the remaining.

sweet! :]
I just hope this means that the 971P will finally start shipping in Europe. Do you happen to know if there's any release date yet? -
