LG L1930SQ 12ms with 170° angle!?

  • I think there is something wrong in the specifications.
A 19'' 12ms panel with 170° viewing angle sound very strange...

  • Wow, what kind of panel will that be? Sounds great.

My first thought is that LG uses the new NEC panel with can be found in the new Pro-Line at the end of the year. But why have LG the panel and NEC says that they still need time for develop it?!

  • Yeah, I see. A marketing guy from LG sits on his desk, got the picture of the 1930S and thinks: 12ms seems to fit to the design :D

Remember the evil L1910P MVA/S-IPS panel exchange? X(

    No, cant say i do.
But then again i havent been reading in the forum for that long, and the German part of it is useless to me (language barrier).

Please tell, in more detail, what LG has done before, that was dishonnest.

I'm on the market for an 19" 12 ms monitor, to replace my rather slow Viewsonic vx900.
At the moment i have seen those fast 19" announced from BenQ ,
NEC/Mitsubishi-japan and now (maybe) LG .
    Am i missing some ?

    Thanks

  • You mean the funny thing with the MVA/ IPS Panels?

LG sold a 19" TFT with an IPS panel. After some tests we came to the conclusion that this never can be an IPS panel. LG confirmed that: they sold a 19" TFT with the entering of an IPS panel in the datasheet but they used a MVA panel in the devices. That s*cked.

The Benq has a TN panel, you know that? The device is quit ok, but has a small viewing angle out of my point of view.

After those marketing thing with the IPS MVA panel I will never buy a pure LG product again.

What is aobut the Fujitsu Siemens P19-1A? It has the 19" IPS panel from LG, but an own electronic. It works very well, the gamers in the german sectors are really happy about the TFT.

LG has spread everywhere fake specifications about the L1910P model.
They said the monitor has proprietary S-IPS panel with 16ms response time.
In the reality it has 25ms MVA panel from Fujitsu.
    Much similar to ViewSonic VX900...

I've read also Samsung will have a fast 19''.

But be careful that all these 12ms panels are in TN technology.
This means they don't have the wide viewing angle of your VX900 and all other MVA/PVA/IPS based monitors.
Moreover they usually display 16,2M colors with dithering.

So is very strange to read L1930SQ/BQ has 170° viewing angle and 16,8 colors.
LG.Philips is producing a 19'' 12ms panel with different specs:

Possible LG are doing something that all other brands only can dream? ;)
