What choose?

    Hi,
    really hard for me to choose the right one TFT.


    I am a web developer, so a lot of code and some 2d graphic too but i need a good device for my free time: some 3d game action (like DF BlackHawkDown, Ghost Recon,...) and some movie (Divx, DVD).
    I need a tft now, i can't wait more than 15 days so i must choose. :(


    Now this is the point:
    Should i spend my money for a good 18" like Nec 1880sx or Iiyama AS4637UT or it's better to go up for 1" and choose some good 19", in this case which one (Nec 1980SX, Viewsonic VP191, Iiyama, Eizo....)?


    I live in Italy and Iiyama seems to be no more present in my country :( ....so, if i buy in Germany, is the warranty applicable in Italy too for the support? No reply from Iiyama France and Iiyama Germany, about this. X(


    Ok ok....too many questions but i would spend my money for a good reason so i ask you, please, a suggestion.

    The 19" TFT you mentioned is not very good for 3D games. Only the Iiyama 481 is good for games in the 19" sector but it isn´t perfect for graphic-works.


    I think you need a TFT which is nearly perfect in every section and there is only the 1880 to be mentioned in the 18"/19" section.


    My advice would be the 1880 or if you say: he dude, I´m fine with not 100% perfect colours: choose the Iiyama 481.


    Warranty counts only for the country you bought it in. To get the country-warranty you have to send it back to germany for ex.

    I don't know if is the truth.... but I asked Iiyama Italia about the warranty and they say is valid in the whole Europe.


    Sure you must found a reliable German shop with international shipping and the possibility to use the "straight of recess" (diritto di recesso).

    Miamo is absolutly right. Sorry, i read the iiyama page: they have an european country warranty.


    Samsung for ex. does have a country warranty.

    Your suggestions are very useful cause i am really frustrated about the choice but know i think to buy one between Nec 18080SX-BK and Iiyama AS4637UT-BK. I've found some e-shop in Germany (computeruniverse.net, cyberport.de and pckaufen.de), they ship in EU.
    About the Prolite 481, yes, i read something about that, it seems good.


    What make me afraid is the quality of the technical support for Iiyama in Italy......this is the reason who makes me feel closer to the Nec model even if i find useful the usb hub for my purposes.


    What can i say......stay tuned, big decision are coming soon!


    Of course i am always happy to receive any other suggestion from everybody.

    The german iiyama service is perfect, cannot understand that it´s bad in italy.


    Maybe I should suggest the NEC 1860 or VP181, but both have some problems (shimmering panel). Don´t know if you can live with that.

    www.mindfactory.de delivers abroad. if they have the tft at call you'll have it there within your 15-day-limit: normally the delivery time is 4 working days. you'll have to order against prepayment. the shipping costs are 25 €, don't know if that is cheap or high-prised. the delivery is supplied by Deutsche Post World Net or rather Deutsche Post Euro-Express.

    I'm just coming back from that e-shop, they do what you said about the terms of service and cost of shipping but unfortunately the price of that black one is high (933,52 €) if compared with the classic color model (776,99 €). There are some other chance with lower price to buy it in Germany. That's a pity, anyway really thank you!


    Anyway there's a news for all the crazy italians who would (like me) buy an Iiyama lcd or crt display!
    Finally Iiyama Germany has replied me:
    Mr. Hans Depner (Service Manager of Iiyama Germany) has told me that they are responsable for the italian market and he gaves me the only two italian dealers at the moment: and
    ADL.IT seems to have the best catalog, they can have every model of lcd line products but as usual for we italians their prices are really high, too high (1.054,80 € taxes included, without shipping costs!) . :(
