I had to call the german acer service today cause of a small problem with an AL1731m, the guy on the line was quit nice so I asked him about new products. He told me something about a new 20" . The only informations he had for me, was that it should avaible by june/july and it´s specially made for gamers. After a short talk, we were clear about the fact that it will be an IPS panel. More informations in the future, the guy will call me again when he has new input

Acer that use a IPS panel sound a bit strange...
AU Optronics is a MVA company and seem to have a 20'' 16ms gray-to-gray.
But I think there is also some deal between AUO and Hitachi...
...or something from Hydis, like with the AL1731 (?)

Yep, really a strange fact. But we took a look on the NEC 20" IPS and the generell facts were the same.
Let´s wait ´til he calls me back. Hope so soon.

No
But I made the experience that there is one premium-guy who gives the premium infos to "normal" users.
Conclusion: I will not give any detailed infos at the premium sector, but some low-detail-infos at the english sector. -
