The 173P+ seems to have a new PVA panel with 1500:1 contrast.
The 193P+ stay with 1000:1 contrast and so probably with the LTM190E4 panel. -
Some description says S-PVA, but I think currently Samsung don't have any Super-PVA (S-PVA) LCD panel for desktop monitors.

It seems they will move the OverDrive from multimedia to office monitors.
L778 would have high quality speakers, but surely it's not good they are not detachable.
Another big lack (for a multimedia monitor) is the total video inputs absence.Eizo must engage better designers...

I've seen the L768 and although its contrast is very good, I disliked the smearing effect the color shifts appearing even at not too large viewing angles.
Yes, I'm not a designer, but I've noticed some color shift in the lower right corner of VA panels.
This may be unacceptable for serious graphic work.
I suppose things will improve with the Super-PVA technology.ZitatSAMSUNG's patented Super PVA is an upgraded PVA liquid crystal cell technology. The cell architecture accommodates eight, rather than the conventional four crystals, so that the liquid crystal molecules can be controlled in eight different directions and angles. This capability greatly enhances the side viewing-angle of the LCD screen.
While they are improving response time using low viscosity liquid crystals and hardware acceleration (OverDrive).
Eizo Italy says they have a not-multimedia monitor with OverDrive before the end of the year.
(I don't know if it's trustworthy) -
In my opinion, Andi indication is correct.
I've spoken with a professional designer and he said L797 is very good and nearly perfectly calibrated.
On the contrary, several users says L768 can have slightly inaccurate gamma.
PVA based monitors, like L768, are best suited for office applications. The main question is:
How much professional is your work?If you don't make covers of magazines L768 can be enough...

Seems that overdrive is the LCD (desktop) novelty of the year that really succeeds to improve response time.
But I will wait for LED and FFL (Flat Fluorescent Lamp) backlight. -

You're probably right.
I remember an AUO panel is already used in the AS4821DT.
I hope in a reasonable price... -

Nec-Mitsubishi has stopped production of Diamondtron CRT last december.
Now the joint venture will concentrate on LCD technology and seems that will change even his name. -
Have you some news about 174P (173P+) or other Samsung with "overdrive"?
We are waiting like vultures for CeBit informations...
Prad will have a CeBit coverage or some correspondent? Thanks

Sorry, this was already in the Prad news...

No more MVA panels directly from Fujitsu.

25ms black->white->black
8ms GTG (Gray To Gray)
Samsung PVA panel + overdrive*** NOTE***
ZitatThe incident is over their newly released FP91E, which is their new top of the line 19" LCD monitor. However due to a mis-design on their part (mis-tuned LUT) these monitors when playing motion pictures will show very much degraded picture quality
