Mostly, these sounds cannot be heard until you actually put your ear to the case. So it's not as bad as you might think.

Hey there,
I'm not sure which price comparison pages are commonly used in the UK, but here's what I found on kelkoo.co.uk in the sub 230 Pound range:
Acer AL1922As
PVA panel, 170 degrees viewing angle, 8ms, 1000:1 contrast ratio
It has DVI and no D-Sub VGA input, but that's ok, since DVI is the way to go anyway.
Alternatively, you might want to look into the
Xerox XA7-19i, which a lot of folks on our board seem to be happy with so far.
MVA panel (allegedly sometimes sold with TN panel, make sure you ask the dealer first), 170 degrees, 8ms, 800:1 contrast, DVI, D-Sub.good luck

it doesn't refer to overall brightness, but rather to brightness uniformity across the screen.
Or in other words, it judges how evenly brightness is allocated to various areas of the screen. -
Although information on viewing angles (and therefore panel type) is hard to come by and often not listed in a notebook's specs, it seems to be true that almost all notebook manufacturers use TN panels for their notebooks.
IBM/Lenovo, however, is one of the few exceptions to this.

Try to get ICC profile files for all of the devices involved in the imaging process chain - from input to final output.

hmm, strange, must be something with your browser.
anyways, for the time being you can email them to johannesprad.de
and I'll post them here. -
ok, my fault. what i described to you refers to pictures outside of the prad.de domain.
You can attach pictures by clicking the grey "Attachments" button below the text box.
have you tried Eizo's ICC profiles yet?

Zitat
I have scanned a sample print and have the original file to compare it to, if I knew how to attach images to a post?
When posting, directly above the reply text box, click the seventh button from the left. It says 'insert image' when you hover your mouse over it.If you haven't done so already, you can set the appearance of the board interface to English
http://www.prad.de/board/usercp.php?action=options_change
it's the last option at the bottom of the page.
dunno if it's set to German by default. -
how does it manifest itself?
is it just the measurements indicating something's off or is it clearly visible too? -
Zitat
...dual output...
by that, you mean
2x DVI
or
1x DVI + 1 VGA (analog)?Is your Eizo S1910 connected to a DVI port?

Beste Glückwünsche auch von meiner Seite! Lass es dir gut gehn! =)

it really depends on what is available at the shop you want to order it from, and how the individual pricing of models at that shop turns out to be.
models to consider:
- The FSC P19-2 is great and frequently being recommended here.
- Eizo S1910 (AS) (superb ergonomics)
- ViewSonic VP930Samsung
- 970P
- 940FnAs an alternative:
470 Euros will also buy you a 20 inch monitor -

ZitatBenQ FP241W (BFI) High Definition
The FP241W (BFI) wide-screen LCD monitor features the world-leading BFI technology, a high resolution of 1920x1200 and HDMI connector. The world-leading BFI (Black Frame Insertion) Technology is the advanced technology of Advanced Motion Accelerator (AMA) Technology. By using BFI Technology, the spatial-temporal integration can effectively reduce the ghosting effect caused by the slow pursuit and low pass effect of the human eyes thus provides clearer motion pictures.
The FP241W is the first monitor of its kind with a HDMI connector worldwide. HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) TM technology is the latest digital technology to connect set top boxes such as PS3 in an efficient and easy way whilst carrying HD audio and video signals in one single cable.
On some other place, the seemingly same(?) technology is called "Black Data Insertion" (BDI), BenQ appears to prefer BFI though.
Availability expected in June 2006 (other press release)

Hi!
have you looked into our buyer's guide yet?questions to ask yourself in order to narrow things down:
1. What's your limit budget-wise?
2. Do you value responsiveness over image quality?
in other words: are you willing to sacrifice noticeable image quality in order to gain a little more speed in return? --> TN vs . VA / IPS + Overdrive
3. Do you favor widescreen or "regular" aspect ratios? -
Hello and welcome to the board.
PRAD.de review VP930
PRAD.de review S1910
Both are excellent monitors, but your emphasis on graphics (and therefore color fidelity) rather inidicates the Eizo as being the more favorable choice. Not least of all because the VP930B seems to have some problems with color gradients and grey scales when a certain range of contrast values is set (see page 7). This might be fixed in future revisions though.
Moreover, the Eizo's ArcSwing stand ("AS" in S1910-AS) will give you additonal ergonomic freedom. -

yep.
*confirm*
getting the right monitor.inf file should fix it.
If Eizo doesnt offer one (would be odd though) and if the standard windows plug'n'pray drivers dont work, you can instead give tools like powerstrip a try. They let you create your own monitor driver with just a few clicks.
Or, - in case you're really keen to get into tech details - there are some guides around the web explaining how to copy/paste a custom monitor.inf file by hand.
