The newsgroup is:
free.it.comp.hardware.monitorNot available on all servers, but recently introduced in Google Groups.
In my message I refer to "professional" FP783 reviews like CNET and Tom's Hardware, not to user reviews.
But in the newsgroup there are several user considerations about 172X and some about 710T.Obviously in italian language... :]
-
This look as very nice monitor with eccentric and successful design.
In the newsgroup where I write, there are also people very happy about Samsung 172X and 710T.
Some review says the Samsung panel has better image quality as result of a better dithering implementation...
<<to be verified>>
On the other hand, the AU Optronics panel has 40.000 hours backlight life vs. the 25.000 of the Samsung. -
The new Sony with LG.Philips 23'' panel (I suppose) for only 2600$...
-
It's funny to read you have problems to buy hardware in Germany...
In Italy shops selling brands like Eizo, Iiyama, Neovo, Hansol you can count with only 2 or 3 fingers...
and we only can dream much of your prices...
-
The Eizo's "Gain" OSD control allows to regulate single R,G,B level until obtain a totally black image.
I have used a L767 for a year and I never noticed this option...
-
He needs that "the whole image" is very dark because he not tolerate normal LCD brightness... like a vampire with daylight...
He has had a bad experience with a Philips 170s4.
-
Thanks Totamec
I think a person with sight problems must look the monitor with his own eyes... but this can help his choice.
-
Zitat
if the minimum brightness value (regulated with MagicTune) is enough dark.
???

"FlexScan S190 / FlexScan S170 Special"
(nice Flash presentation)The FlexScan S190-GY cost 109.800 Yen ---> 828 Euro
...on the pricey side?
-
Sorry for my poor english...
I would mean, if the minimum brightness value (regulated with MagicTune) is enough dark.
Because some LCD monitor remains too much bright also with 0% brightness. Thanks
-
A friend with eyes problem are looking for a 19'' LCD with low brightness regulation (darken image) like a CRT can do.
Someone know if the new Samsung SyncMaster 193p has this feature?
Thanks!

Design is a matter of taste...
Personally I don't consider only the stylistic side but also ergonomics and functionality.
Surely this base has an heavy look but great customization possibility. You can also buy only the screen and mount it on a different stand.
-
...this let think S170 and S190 are not "japan only" products.
I like very much the unusual ArcSwing2 base.ZitatQuit interesting products, maybe Eizo understood that they need to do something for staying on the market.
I think this year they have a well assorted LCD range.
The only doubt is the price...
-
Eizo seem to be prolific like a bunny this year.

There is something strange.
In the CeBit photos the NEC 1980SXi has 176° H/V viewing angle and 500:1 contrast ratio like the LG.Philips panel. The NEC S-IPS panel has 170° viewing angle and 450:1 contrast.
So NEC don't like his own panel and want to use the LG???
Maybe they have some volume problem or the CeBit specs are preliminary...

Yesterday your minister eaten their promise to make opposition to software patents in Europe.
Thanks to this practice open-source software (Linux, Apache, ...) and small software developers will have a hard life or eternal rest. :O
I hope you will ask to your government why they have done this gift to USA software giants.
Sorry for the OT
