DCDi (Directional Correlation De-interlacing) is a video processor from the manufacturer Faroudja which is used, for example, in the Gateway FHD2400. This technology is distinguished by motion-adaptive deinterlacing without motion artefacts as well as better display of edge intersections.


The process checks gaps which have arisen as a result of the interpolation and fills these with pixels so that natural image reproduction is possible without distracting edges at contrast-rich colour intersections. The video processor is used in AC receivers, DVD players, LCD TVs, plasma televisions, Blu-ray and HDTV.



The FLI2300 processor has several video functions including motion-adaptive deinterlacing with film mode, noise reduction, scaling, video improvements and a conversion of the image rate. (Photo: Faroudja)
