There are indications that Samsung 215TW is a discontinued product.
    http://www.samsung.com/za/prod…ntinuedproducts/215tw.asp

This can mean that Samsung is moving all sub 24 inch wide monitors to cheap TN panels?
...or they are preparing a replacement product with wide viewing angle?
(remembering the Rinaldo's words on a new 22'' S-PVA panel...)

    What do you think?
    :)

    P.S.

This product has been discontinued as of Monday, June 04, 2007.

According to chinese site PCPOP, these are the updated specs of SyncMaster 2071PW.

I've thought to make this unique thread to collect/discuss news from CeBit 2007.
    :)

I hope to be wrong, but the first sensation is that there are few BIG news.
This can be explained by the absence of some manufacturer (like said by Rinaldo).
    However there are something remarkable...

    *** SyncMaster 245T ***
I think the 245T specs are not so different from other 24'' with S-PVA panel... with a surprise.
I not have understanded if this is a standard 245T feature but this monitor is showing the MPA (Motion Picture Acceleration) technology.
The MPA double the refresh rate to insert extra calculated frames in the video stream.

Some other new model with TN panel... nothing to be excited...
    ;)

I think so, as long as there's stuff to write about: Many producers e.g. Eizo won't be present at CeBIT this year ;)

    This is bad. 8o
I thought to know their 2007 models.
I've heard about some CeBit issues...

    Zitat

But - back to topic :D - we've got a date with Samsung, so perhaps we learn more about new PVA 20- and 22-inch models.

    This is very good. :)

    Surely, it's a subjective thing...
I like to work with default Windows settings and I don't have a perfect sight.
    So I avoid pixel-pitch smaller than 0,28.

Sorry for the little OT but...
Do you have a reportage from CeBit this year?
    :)

Yes, the 0,25 pixel-pitch is very small for some application.
A 22'' S-PVA would be much more attractive but they have only TN panels in this size.
We will see at CeBit 2008 (?)
    ;)

The 2071BW/PW specs... are not the final monitor specs.
The chinese pcpop site has grabbed the LTM201M1 panel specs.
I think some value, like GTG response time, could be slightly different.

The "underground" notice is that the very good price/performance ratio Philips 190P7 is definitely out of stock.
In the next june Philips will introduce the new 190P8.
The bad is (if confirmed) that the 190P8 will no more have the Premium-MVA panel but a cheap TN.
    :(

    Ciao Gianluca.
    I'm from Italy too.
    Spaghetti, mandolino, ... :)

    1990SXi is a pro graphic monitor (LG.Philips S-IPS panel).
S1910 is an office monitor with very good color reproduction.
So, if the Photoshop work is your main application the answer is obvious.

But I doubt you can still find the S1910 in Italy.
The main Eizo shops have only the new S1931 (with some less graphic feature).

I think you must judge the viewing angle "using the monitor" and not walking around the desk. :)
However, if you want a better viewing angle, it has no sense to buy a monitor with the same panel.

For the best viewing angle go for IPS panels:
    Nec LCD1990FX (LG.Philips S-IPS)
    Nec LCD1990SXi (LG.Philips S-IPS)
    Eizo L797 (Nec SA-SFT)
    ecc.

Also S-PVA (Samsung) and AMVA (AU Optronics) technologies have a better v.a. compared to older PVA and P-MVA.

If isn't enough, there is also an LTM190E4-L32.

This is a Samsung 971P polish review where they says it use 6-bit+dithering:

I suppose it from the poltran.com automatic translation:

    Zitat

Quality of presented color is very high by monitor. Palette of paint presented covers whole range on screen TrueColor or on each channel 8 -bits RGB. Exact installation indicate that truth that matrix works on 6 -bits internally only but it gets additional tints behind assistance of method blending of approximated indirect color ( ) diferingu. However, it is necessary to underline, that operation of match is perfect blending color and find such tints heavily, in order to he (its; his; it) operation give notice (remark), it is possible to see characteristic on easily only tint podkoloryzowanych szaro[ci kaszk, however, it has not managed to notice (to remark) characteristic tremor of color me, it was possible to observe which (who) in monitor sometimes + 193P.

With a dozen LTM190E4 versions, it would be interesting to found some extra datasheet...

    Merry Christmas!

So, there are two possible explanations...

1 - There is an "undocumented" 19 inch PVA panel with true 8-bit colors.

2 - The spatial dithering is not implemented in the panel and any monitor manufacturer can decide if use it or not.

Anyway, it's a very strange issue.

    P.S.
    After some Googling...
Go to and search for ltm190e4.
    Some results are:
    LTM190E4-L02 (the 970P panel?)
    LTM190E4-L02-E
    LTM190E4-L02-P
    LTM190E4-L02-W
    LTM190E4-L21
    LTM190E4-L03
    LTM190E4-L03-A
    LTM190E4-L03-Q
    LTM190E4-L31

A monitor with the "LTM190E4" panel is like an Easter Egg.
    ;)
