The three Taiwanese panel manufacturers Chi Mei Optoelectronics (CMO), Innolux Display and TPO Displays announced this week that they will have to push out their planned company merger to the first of April. Various claims from foreign branches which are still in the approval process are being named as the reason. Just at the start of the year, the three companies had pulled in their merger to the March.

The new company will probably become Taiwan’s number one panel manufacturer and push AU Optronics (AUO) into second place. Considered globally, the merged company should come in third place behind South Korean manufacturers LG Display and Samsung.
