PCGH: Response times and power input of more than 90 LCDs

Our friends at PCGH.de have tested more than 90 LCD monitors for response times and power consumption.

According to PCGH, the following is generally true for response times: for response times of more than 25 milliseconds, you should be careful, since from this value, the streaking effect gets increasingly stronger. Here, you should not rely blindly on the manufacturer’s details, since these generally refer to the grey-to-grey value, which is far from the value in practice. This value is very low compared to colour changes. PCGH, on the other hand, uses the LCD streaking test, which carries out a colour combination test.

As well as response times, PCGH also examines power consumption for LCDs in its overview (measured directly at the socket with a Voltcraft power measuring device). Here, it is interesting to see how power consumption has developed from 15-inch models to 30-inch monitors.
