According to a report from the Taiwanese stock exchange, OEM manufacturer BriView, a subsidiary of Taiwanese panel producer AU Optronics (AUO), is planning to open two new production locations in China. To this end, the company intends to invest around 200 million US Dollars in the construction of two new factories in the towns of Hefei (Anhui province) and Kunshan (Jiangsu province) in order to meet increasing demand for LCD TVs in China.

BirView hopes to be able to secure a large number of orders from Chinese brand names through its shortened supply routes, since dropping sales prices are putting device manufacturers under increasing price pressure. The company expects to able to expand its sales figures further from formerly almost 600,000 devices in 2008 through these measures.
