Whether you are a professional graphics worker or a demanding end-user, the W20 monitor series in 16:10 format should satisfy all graphics needs with its RGB LED backlight and IPS panel. With the W20 series, LG is extending its monitor portfolio with new models which should prove especially convincing for graphics use.

The W2420R is completely focused on the demands of professionalusers: Thanks to the hardware and software-based calibration (LGE Calibrator) including light protection hood, which prevents distracting external light effects, the monitor is suitable for applications ranging up to pre-printing processes. The 24-inch S-IPS panel with RGB LED backlight and WCG (Wide Colour Gamut) should offer perfect, natural colour reproduction of135 percent. Thus, the model covers the entire Adobe RGB colour space.

In order to make it easier to work with external devices, the :CD monitor is equipped with a USB 2.0 hub as well as many other connectors. The response time is 6 ms (ISO) and the brightness is 250 cd/m˛. The W2420P and W2220P, on the other hand, have a brightness of up to 400 cd/m˛ and 300 cd/m˛ respectively and both have an IPS panel with a response time that has been reduced to 5 ms (ISO). Thus, the models are suitable for user who value multimedia applications and graphics performance equally. "With the W20 series, we are serving both graphics beginners and users with professional demands”, explains Nils Seib, Manager for Public Relations, LG Electronics Deutschland GmbH.

All widescreen monitors in the W20 series offer more space on the screen in 16:10 format — for toolbars and also for displaying finer details through the WUXGA resolution (1,920 x 1,200 pixels). The colour deviations are just minimal across the entire viewing angle of 178°. In terms of image reproduction, the user has various options: thus, it can process two DIN-A4 pages simultaneously or turn the screen 90° using the pivot software in order to allow the user to work on a pivot format document in full screen. In terms of connectors, 2 HDMI inputs (HDCP), a DVI-D-(HDCP) and an analogue 15 Pin D-Sub input are available.

The funcitonal, linear design in matte black (W2420R) or silver (W2420P and W2220P) with slim frame is enriched with a high degree of ergonomics, e.g. with a height-adjustable rotating and tilting base as well as touch-sensitive surfaces and hotkeys.

The LG W2420R professional monitor with RBG LED backlight is available from May priced at 1,630.00 Euro. The IPS panel monitors W2220P and W2420P are available from July and cost 400.00 Euro for the 24-inch model and 260.00 Euro for the 22-inch model.
