Samsung , with the
SyncMaster 225UW, is bringing a 22 inch widescreen monitor intended especially for video and web conferences to the market. The multifunctional LCD comes with an integrated 2 megapixel webcam and a built-in microphone.
The
TN panel used in the monitor gives it a response time of
5 ms, a contrast ratio of 700:1 and viewing angles of up to 160 degrees. Both the integrated webcam and the microphone can be connected via USB cable when Windows XP is running.

Together with video-conference systems company Bravis GmbH, Samsung displayed the new monitor at this year’s Hannover trade fair. Additional hardware installations and costs should not be necessary with the SyncMaster 225UW.
The video conference software, contributed by Bravis and running without its own server, is included with the LCD. The Samsung SyncMaster 225UW will be available on the German market from
June 2007. The price has not yet been confirmed.
