Introduction

Iiyama has designed this 19-inch LCD Monitor E1900S-B2 particularly for use in Home-/Office-applications and video and computer gaming. In particular the fast screen warm up time of 2 ms (grey-to-grey) and the sharp contrast and light values are emphasized. With street prices around 225 Euros – even lower prices can be found in the usual price comparison engines – the monitor, with its DVI-D connection belongs to the more inexpensive models in the 19-inch range.

In our tests we wish to discover whether the emphasized qualities really perform and whether, besides the economical price, the performance offered is able to meet our high expectations.

All test results were established using a digital connection. The analog signal input was merely used to test analog image quality. Our test system ran with a Gainward GS FX6800 Ultra graphics card.

Scope of supply

The Iiyama ProLite E1900S-B2 comes with the following accessories: A multi-language manual, a network cable, a D-Sub cable (analog) and an audio cable. There is no DVI-D cable and this must be ordered separately. Obviously Iiyama has saved money here, but we think this is in the wrong place – an LCD monitor with a DVI connection should also have the appropriate cable with it ready for immediate use.

There is also no CD or diskette provided with the monitor’s driver information. Although a driver is not essential, as the E1900S-B2 is Plug and Play compatible, if you want to work in multi-screen mode you would prefer to have the proper name available for improved organization. Even downloading the Iiyama driver from the homepage is no use, because the new models have not yet been added. This may only be a triviality, but something Iiyama should rectify.
