REVIEW: NEC LCD2170NX-BK![]()
++ very good, + good, +/- satisfactory, - bad, -- very bad The NEC 2170NX-BK is targeted towards users with high demands. It comes with the "new" design of the NX range which had been introduced at CeBIT 2005 for the first time. The display's diagonal size is 21,3 inches offering a native resolution of 1.600 x 1.200 pixels. NEC is renowned for its displays being functional and of high quality. In this review, we want to determine where the NEC MultiSync 2170NX-BK ranks in everyday tasks such as working, gaming, and DVD playback.

Our test bed ran with a Gainward PowerPack! Ultra/2600 Golden Sample graphics card and two Point of View GeForce 7800GTX 512MB (SLI) graphics cards. The NEC MultiSync 2170NX-BK's scope of supply includes the following items: one manual with quick instructions, one information sheet about the screen manager software "NaViSet", one sheet with support contact addresses and telephone numbers, one CD, one DVI-D cable (digital), one D-Sub cable (analog), one USB cable, and one power cable. The CD contains monitor drivers for Windows, and a detailed manual in PDF format, the Adobe Reader software and the screen manager software NaViSet. While the setup guide is supplied in several languages, there is no detailed user manual available in printed form, which is unfortunately common practice among manufacturers nowadays. Overall, the scope of supply of the NEC MultiSync 2170NX-BK can be regarded as complete.
