REVIEW: ViewSonic VX922
++ very good, + good, +/- satisfactory, - bad, -- very bad
With the VX922, ViewSonic is releasing an LCD monitor which, impressing with its grey-to-grey response time of 2 ms, is aimed at gamers for the most part. Many people regard response time as the single most criterion, which is why reading 2 ms will surely raise expectations in terms of gaming capabilities. In this review, we want to clarify how well the ViewSonic VX922 performs in everyday use. We are placing particular emphasis on the gaming capabilities of this display.
All results issued in this review have been established using the digital input, with the exception of the test runs for analog image quality, which have been established on the analog input. Our test bed ran with a Gainward PowerPack! Ultra/2600 Golden Sample and two Point of View GeForce 7800GTX 512MB (SLI).
The scope of supply of the ViewSonic VX922 comprises a short manual including a CD, a power cable, a D-Sub cable and a DVI-D cable. Apart from Windows monitor drivers, the accompanying CD also contains a more detailed PDF version of the user manual in several languages. A detailed printed manual is not included with this monitor, which unfortunately has become a common practice among display manufacturers nowadays. By and large, the scope of supply of the ViewSonic VX922 can be regarded as complete.
