Zero input lag: the stopwatches run exactly synchronously.
Direct comparison with a CRT proves that no input lag arises at 50 percent overdrive. The ViewSonic VX1940w therefore not only has perfectly adjusted overdrive but also very sharp moving picture playback. Nor does the LCD monitor demonstrate any input lag.
Thus, the VX1940 is the first choice for hardcore gamers and ViewSonic shows that its employees still know how to build fast monitors.

Interpolation
Interpolation is almost as important for gamers as the response time. Even at a high resolution such as 1.680 x 1.050, slower graphics cards can reach their limit. With the ViewSonic VX1940w, this is not a problem.
Interpolation on the ViewSonic VX1940w is even better in the smaller resolutions 1.280 x 800 and 1.024 x 768 than in 1.440 x 900.
With its fine pixel structure, interpolated resolutions such as 1.440 x 900, 1.280 x 800 and 1.024 x 768 still look relatively sharp and loss of detail is minimal. The resolution 1.280 x 800 has to be registered manually in the graphics card driver if needed, since it is not automatically made available.
In order to ensure that games in 4:3 resolution such as Battlefield 1942 do not come out distorted, ViewSonic has included a relevant function in the monitor’s menu with which such resolutions are displayed as justified with black bands to the left and right on the screen. However, the VX1940w does not offer pixel-precise interpolation.

Some expensive models in the 24-inch class and larger offer a better interpolation performance than the ViewSonic VX1940w. Within the 19-, 20- and 22-inch widescreen class, the 19-inch model outshines most competitors with its extremely fine pixel structure.
