Introduction

With 1.920 x 1.200 pixels, the Scaleoview Q26W-1 from Fujitsu Siemens does not have a higher resolution than a 24-inch monitor, but the screen content is bigger and easier to read thanks to the 26-inch screen diagonal.

The 26-inch model is a potential multi-media display which, thanks to its numerous connection options including an additional HDMI and Component input, can be used for television as well as for console, DVD or Blu-Ray players and of course also for the PC.

With the fast TN panel used in the model and a response time of 3 ms, the FSC Q26-1W is also a hot candidate for gamers. Thanks to its low price of less than 500.00 Euro, the LCD monitor from Fujitsu Siemens is not an unaffordable luxury, but rather an alternative to comparable TN monitors in the 24-inch class.

Our detailed review will show how well the Scaleoview Q26W-1 with its TN panel performs as compared with its VA and IPS panel 26- and 27-inch rivals the LG W2600HP and Dell 2709W.

Scope of supply

The FSC Q26W-1 comes carefully packed in a large box. As well as the huge 26-inch screen, the box contains a metal base, DVI, D-Sub, power and even a HDMI cable. Other extras include a USB, an audio and a microphone cable, a CD with software, a booklet containing safety guidelines, the guarantee card and a Quick Set-up guide.

In order to start using the monitor, you need merely slot the base into the appropriate space in the pillar of the stand and fix it with the screw that is included. Especially practical: no screwdriver is necessary.

A folding loop is affixed to the screw with which it can be tightened. Here, it is not possible to do anything wrong, since all necessary steps for installation are illustrated clearly in the Quick Setup Guide.
