Quite some time has passed since the first LCDs had been promoted as gamer displays. These displays almost all were utilizing TN panels with a specified response time of 16 ms back then. The response time of recent monitor however, are specified as 12 ms or less. The fastest ones presently perform at around 8 ms, although models with 6 ms are already announced and on their way.

In our latest review we want have a closer look at the 17 inch NEC LCD1770NX-BK featuring a response time of 12 ms. All results issued in this review have been established by using the digital input, with the exception of the test runs for analog image quality, which have been established on the analog input. Our test bed ran with a Leadtek WinFast A250 TD Geforce4400 graphics card.
