For the end of this year, NEC has announced the new protagonist with regard to energy efficiency, environmental friendliness and economy. With the EA222Wme, the manufacturer is bringing its first desktop LC display with a White LED (Light Emitting Diode) backlight to the market. Users in the SMB and corporate business sectors in particular are therefore offered an even finer choice of products suited to their individual needs.

After a reduction of the conventional four CCFL backlights to just two tubes on the EA221Wme, NEC is concentrating on even more energy-saving White LED technology with the EA222WMe. Compared to conventional LCD displays, up to 50 percent more energy can be saved. All tried and tested eco features in the EA series such as the Ambient Light Sensor for ideal brightness or the NEC One Touch Eco Button rounds off the overall ecological package perfectly and guarantee a high level of economy through a very low TCO (Total Cost of Ownership).

Very good viewing comfort should be possible with the W-LED backlight at a brightness of 250 cd/m². As well as a DVI-D connection, a Display-Port connection, which is new to the NEC desktop LC Displays, ensures digital connectivity. There is also height adjustment of up to 110 mm and a pivot function for the necessary ergonomics in the workplace.
The NEC EA222WMe is expected to be available from retailers starting December 2009 in the colours black and white with a silver front frame.
