Introduction

Inside a box made from sturdy cardboard, the device is held firmly by means of two stable styrofoam-made shells. This way of packaging is fully sufficient and in accordance with the shipping conditions issued by manufacturers of large sized LCD and plasma displays. Additionally, the actual panel is shielded by transparent films. The included accessories can be found within one of the two styrofoam shells. The procedure of lifting the device out of the cardboard should be performed by at least two persons. The TV comes with the stand already attached to it; there are no more mounting steps to be done except in case one plans to wall-mount it.

Scope of supply

The NextVision LCDTV N3260w is shipped along with the following accessories: one low heat device power cable, batteries, one 3-fold Cinch cable (Video, sound L & R), one Scart RGB cable (fully assigned), one Quick Start Guide as well as one bound multilingual manual. As it is with most other manufacturers, too, packing an HDMI cable was omitted for reasons of expense. Appropriate cables can be purchased in electronic retail markets.

Design and mechanics

The design is in line with the currently popular trend which is to frame the actual panel with a black border, add a silver frame to the housing and make the rear side of the housing black again. According to ViewSonic, this black panel bordering contributes to the contrast being perceived as higher. We find the ViewSonic LCDTV N3260w’s appearance, just like its predecessor’s, to be of timeless elegance. The non-removable soundbar mounted to the underside of the device houses stereo speakers. Therefore the screen area starts about 15 to 20 cm above the ground that it stands on.

The horizontally and vertically unalterable stand always ensures firm stability; even when jarred, the display won’t teeter.
