REVIEW: Belinea 2485 S1W (No. 112401) Part 4

The base is screwed to the monitor at the back. The threaded holes are distanced 10 cm apart and are therefore compliant with the VESA100 standard. After the base has been removed, any VESA100-compliant mount can be attached to the Belinea 2485 S1W.

The four Philips head screws are additionally secured with Locktite screw adhesive to avoid unintentional loosening of the screws.

The base of the 2485 S1W makes a solid impression and weighs more than 2.5 kilograms. The supporting sections are made of metal that is encased in plastic. On the underside of the base is large metal plate with seven rubber pads to guard against slipping.

The stable base weighs 2.5 kg and gives an impression of solidity.

Underside of base with anti-slip pads which only work moderately well.

Despite the numerous rubber pads and an overall weight of 11 kilograms, the monitor’s anti-slipping capabilities are only moderate. This may also be because the base of our test model does not lie entirely flat on the table surface and the monitor wobbles easily as a result. To compensate for this, we folded a piece of paper and pushed it under the right branch of the base as a makeshift solution.

Creative anti-wobble solution for the base, which is not quite even.

The Belinea 2485 S1W is practically silent in use, in standby mode and when switched off, regardless what the brightness setting is. A very faint hum can be heard only when you listen with your ear directly on the back of the monitor. The 2485 S1W also has a power switch with which the device can be separated completely from the mains.

The LCD signals ready mode with a green LED, integrated into the power button. If the Belinea 2485S1W changes to standby mode, the LED glows orange. In both cases, the LED’s brightness is not at an unpleasant level.

According to Maxdata, the Belinea 2485 S1W’s power consumption is a maximum of 105 watts and under two watts in standby mode. We tested the power consumption using an electricity measuring device.
