Introduction

Not long ago, most buyers had a 19-inch monitor at the top of their wish lists. Then along came 22-inch widescreen LCDs and took the market truly by storm. And now, the widescreen monitor’s triumphal march is moving further into the 24 to 30-inch class.

With the Belinea 2485 S1W, we tested another 24-inch monitor with a VA panel after the ViewSonic VX2435wm and Eizo S2431W-GY. This top model from German computer manufacturer Maxdata offers comprehensive ergonomic functions and a good range of features. More interesting again is the excellent price of less than €660.00.

All results published here were obtained via the digital input. Only the analogue image quality was tested on an analogue connection. We used a Sapphire Radeon X1950XTX and an XFX GeForce 8800GTX for testing.

The box in which the Belinea 2485 S1W comes contains the monitor with the base to be attached and also the following: a D-Sub, a DVI-D and a USB cable, an audio cable, a power cable, a large screw for securing the base to the monitor, a short installation guide and a CD-ROM with a detailed PDF manual.
