REVIEW: Eizo HD2441W-TS Part 18
Lastly, we looked at the Picture in Picture (PiP) function on the Eizo HD2441W-TS. Unfortunately, only the position of the window that is superimposed can be changed – it can be located in one of the four corners. The size of the window cannot be changed.
Active Picture in Picture function
For the superimposed window, various levels of transparency can be set. The monitor does not have a split screen function. The Picture in Picture function can only be used when the signal source for the picture is via D-Sub or DVI-D. If, on the other hand, the main window’s signal source is one of the two HDMI inputs, the PiP super-imposition does not work.

The HD2441W’s PiP function HD2441W is only converted in a rudimentary fashion and in its current form only represents a nice addition. Eizo could have saved itself this function, since its usefulness is very limited in our opinion.
The Eizo HD2441W-TS comes in a simple, functional titanium-silver design and this also emphasises its professional appeal. The manufacturing quality of the cover is flawless. For the ArcSwing base, the quality is not quite as good, with stiff tilting and ArcSwing height adjustment mechanisms. In addition, the height adjustment tends to sag a little horizontally.
As a monitor for multimedia use, the model comes with 4 inputs: D-Sub, DVI-D and two HDMI inputs. Unfortunately, the monitor has no analogue video connections and can therefore not be used in connection with the vast majority of video devices, which only feature analogue video connections. Even though digitalisation is becoming more and more widespread, we believe that underestimated the German. There are many older consoles such as the PS2 or XBox, which only have analogue video outputs. But even the "Next Generation" console, the XBox 360, has only analogue video outputs – this changed only with the XBox 360 Elite. It is no different with DVD players and receivers.
The image quality of the Eizo HD2441W-TS is very good, which is a benefit for all applications and also for video mode. However, the monitor does not offer an extended colour space (Wide Gamut). The HD2441W-TS qualifies for UGRA certification and thus, the monitor is suitable for use in the area of graphics if needed.
With a price of around €1,300.00, the Eizo HD2441W-TS is certainly not a steal. On the other hand, there are few alternatives: At the moment, we are not aware of any model that can compete with 2 HDMI inputs and an identically good to very good performance. Generally, you will pay more for something special.
If you are looking for a very good 24-inch widescreen monitor for multimedia use, can do without an analogue video connection and are prepared to shell out €1300.00 for it, the Eizo HD2441W is the choice for you.
Overall rating: VERY GOOD
