In today‘s review of the Belinea 102035W we are testing another widescreen monitor which recently arrived at the market. The overall trend towards widescreen monitors has been becoming more and more apparent for quite some time now and an increasing number of customers are showing interest in them. Of course, this caught the attention of monitor manufacturers and resulted in their response of launching the according widescreen models.

With the Belinea 102035W, Maxdata has incorporated the first widescreen display in its range of LCD monitor products. At a diagonal screen size of 20.1 inches, it sports the 1680 x 1050 resolution which corresponds to an aspect ratio of 16:10. The following test is intended to give you a detailed overview on how the Belinea 102035W performs in common daily tasks like working, gaming and DVD playback.

All results issued in this review have been established using the digital input, with the exception of the test runs for analog image quality, which have been established on the analog input. Our test bed ran with a Gainward PowerPack! Ultra/2600 Golden Sample and two Point of View GeForce 7800GTX 512MB (SLI).

Scope of supply

The Belinea 102035W‘s scope of supply comprises a quick instructions sheet, a D-Sub cable, a USB cable, an audio cable and a power cable. The CD additionally contains a detailed multilingual manual in PDF format. A windows monitor driver can not be found on the CD; however, the setup program automatically retrieves them online from the Maxdata webpage. So if you happen to have no internet connection available, you won‘t be able to install the driver. Fortunately, the Belinea 102035W works flawlessly with the standard Windows Plug and Play driver, too. In our opinion, manufacturers should definitely include all of the software and drivers that are required for running the device. Just as it should go without saying that monitors having a DVI interface should always be accompanied by a DVI cable which Maxdata unfortunately decided to omit for the Belinea 102035W.
