REVIEW: Eizo HD2441W-TS
++ very good, + good, +/- satisfactory, - bad, -- very bad
The new HD2441W 24-inch widescreen monitor is Eizo’s answer to the increasing demand for multi-media monitors. The HD2441W has a D-Sub and a DVI-D input as well as two HDMI ports and supports Full HD 1080p to boot. The price alone, at €1,300.00, makes it clear that this is an LCD monitor that is intended to be in the upper league. Since this is an Eizo monitor, our expectations are naturally high.
The Eizo HD2441W comes in three colour versions: white/silver (HD2441W-WS), titanium silver (HD2441W-TS) and black metallic (HD2441W-BK).
In this detailed test, we go through the Eizo HD2441W-TS with a fine-toothed comb, concentrating in particular on the multimedia capabilities of the monitor. In practical tests in a wide variety of contexts, the monitor must show what it is made of and whether it can meet our high expectations of it.
We tested the HD2441W-TS in PC mode with a Sapphire Radeon X1950 XTX and an XFX GeForce 8800GTX. We also used a Philips DVP5980 DVD player and a Sony PlayStation 3.
