REVIEW: Eizo EV2333WH-BK Part 16
The appearance of the Eizo EV2333WH is elegant, especially in the black version. The manufacturing quality of the plastic components fits precisely and is of a very high quality. The slightly rasped surface makes the EV2333WH less susceptible to fingerprints, dust or scratches. Height adjustment, tilting and pivot function as well as rotation once around its own axis are exemplary on the Eizo E333WH.
Advertised as an office monitor, the Eizo EV2333WH offers a large number of functions in order to save energy in an efficient, ideal manner. As well as the light sensor, the EV2333WH also has a motion sensor. This allows it to establish whether there is a user in front of the screen or not. Thus function works very well when the motion measurement is changed to a test interval of 3 minutes. The control of the backlight with the aid of the light sensor also functions flawlessly. Depending on the brightness of the backlight, the power consumption is between 38,1 and 16,5 watts. For a 23-inch monitor with a PVA panel, this is an outstanding result.
The colour display of the Eizo EV2333WH is very natural. The high-quality PVA panel with its 10-Bit LUT displays saturated colours and also has no problems with colour gradients. The black point of the EV2333WH and the resultant contrast ratio are outstanding.
A further plus offered by the Eizo EV2333WH is the very successful pre-defined sRGB image mode. Even in the factory settings, the monitor delivers an excellent result. At values such as these, calibration is really unnecessary. The viewing angle and illumination of the Eizo EV2333WH were also convincing.
The interpolation quality of the EV2333WH is good, if not perfect, but it offers an option for 1:1 display. However, some resolutions cannot be displayed correctly and the user must select the setting "no scaling " in the graphics card driver.
The list of negative points of the Eizo EV2333WH is short. Once more, outstanding image quality cannot be combined with as good a response time. The streaking on the EV2333WH is unbearable for hardcore gamers in particular, despite overdrive implementation. Occasional gamers may also have problems with the slow refresh rate, depending on how sensitive they are. External player devices such as Blu-ray players or games consoles cannot be run on the Eizo EV2333WH.
A very good quality and the excellent performance offered, together with a fair price, give the Eizo EV2333WH top marks.
