REVIEW: Eizo EV2333WH-BK
++ very good, + good, +/- satisfactory, - bad, -- very bad
Energy saving is a current topic to which the new 23-inch EV2333WH LCD monitor from Eizo has paid special attention. As well as a light sensor, which measures the lighting in the surroundings and adjusts the display illumination accordingly, Eizo has also integrated a motion sensor. This allows the EV2333WH to recognise whether or not there is a user in front of the screen and if not, the monitor’s snooze mode is activated after a certain period of time. Thus, energy can be saved as well as possible, especially in the office sector.
However, it would not be an Eizo monitor if the EV2333WH did not have even more to offer. A high-quality 23-inch PVA panel with 16,7 million reproducible colours in 16:9 format, with a 7 ms response time including overdrive and ergonomic adjustment options that leave nothing to be desired. In addition to the digital DVI input, the EV2333WH also has a DisplayPort. Typically for Eizo, the EV2333WH is available in two colours. The GY at the end of the model description stands fort he light grey version and the BK stands for the black version. Our detailed test should show how the Eizo EV2333WH performs in everyday use.
We connected and tested the Eizo EV2333WH via the digital DVI output of an Asus GTX 275 and the model was connected with this using a DVI cable. The calibration was carried out using an Eye-One colorimetre from X-Rite together with the iColor software from Quato and Colorimetre HCFR. As an external player source for Blu-ray media, we used the Sony BDP-S 350 Blu-ray player, connected via a HDMI-DVI cable.
The Eizo EV2333WH comes in a handy but not very compact box. Once the model is removed, however, the reason becomes clear: the monitor is delivered with the base mounted and this requires depth accordingly. Weighing just a little over 7 kilograms, the 23-inch model is vey light. The box also offers sufficient space for the accessories provided. Styrofoam sections and a soft foam bag ensure that the EV2333WH can be transported safely.

The scope of supply for the Eizo EV2333WH includes a DVI cable for digital and an analogue D-Sub VGA cable for analogue usage. For power supply, Eizo has included a power cable and there is also a 3.5 mm jack connector cable for transmitting audio signals. In addition, there is also a CD with a screen driver and "ScreenManager Pro" software, a guarantee card and a user manual. Unfortunately, no DisplayPort cable is provided.
