As well as the OSD language, the position of the OSD on the screen can be changed here. The inconspicuous down arrow is easy to overlook. However, the menu continues further and thus the display can be restored to the factory settings.
4:3 Widescreen
The aspect ratio of the model can be changed via direct selection button. Here, the labelling 4:3 Widescreen (Wide) is somewhat confusing, since other formats can be displayed as well.
Overall, the OSD is sufficiently equipped, but does not include any extras. Since the interpolation, sound and input sources can be controlled using direct selection buttons, they have not been integrated into the OSD.

Image quality
A TN panel which does not have an extended colour space is used in the LG W2442PA. A standard 8-bit LUT is integrated.
However, this does not function very cleanly on the LG W2442PA. The 24-inch model achieves satisfactory results in the grey gradient sector at best, since clear banding can be seen here. Banding can be seen in the lower and middle grey areas, even from a larger distance from the monitor. This effect is clearly visible for synthetic gradients, but for real photographs, the effect is not as pronounced.
Banding test: Grey gradients.
Contrast/ banding test colour gradients.
The colour gradients are also not completely clean and there is slight banding for blue. In the contrast gradients, on the other hand, not one single superimposition spoils the image. Because of the panel used and the electronics, the W2442PA achieves a good result.
The illumination is very good and the brighter patches which are often usual at the edges are hardly present on the LG W2442PA and can only be seen if you look from slightly above onto the screen. The black value could be better at all levels of brightness, but still delivers good results.
The LG W2442PA does not have an extended colour space. This is also not surprising considering its market positioning as a multimedia display in the beginner sector. The video sources which are usual today are based on colour spaces which are comparable with sRGB. Monitors with extended colour spaces demonstrate very saturated colours here, which can also hardly be corrected with on-board means. With the W2442PA, such problems do not occur at all. Professional image/graphics editing is naturally not an option on this model.
