Introduction

With the Fujitsu P23T-6 IPS, the manufacturer is promising a monitor that should be ideal for demanding graphics and CAD. As well as these characteristics, however, we will also test the quality of film playback and the monitor’s suitability for gaming. Gamers in particular should be able to hope for similar results to the good results achieved by the Fujitsu P22W-5 ECO IPS.

The 23-inch monitor has an IPS panel with an LED backlight and a native resolution of 1.920 x 1.080 pixels. This technology promises low power consumption, which has been optimised further through an ECO mode and a standby power consumption of 0 watts. In addition, a sensor should make it possible for the brightness to be adjusted automatically to the brightness in the surroundings. The monitor’s other highlights include the ergonomic base with auto pivot and the large number of connector options.

The pixel fault class indicated is awarded in accordance with a new ISO standard which is somewhat stricter than the old pixel fault class II but does not guarantee that the monitor is free of pixel faults.

The results published in the test were measured via the digital DVI output of an Nvidia Geforce GTS 450 from Gigabyte. The iColor software and the Software Colorimetre HCFR were used together with a spectral photometer (EyeOne Pro) for the colorimetric measurements. The minimum black value was measured using the Colorimeter DTP94. The external playback of video material was carried out on the Sony BDP-S350 Blu-ray player, which was connected using a DVI cable and a DVI-HDMI adapter.

Scope of supply

After opening the box, one can reach the accessories and the base. The monitor itself is well protected under a thick layer of Styrofoam. Thus, the base must still be mounted before the monitor can be used.

The scope of supply includes a VGA cable for analogue connection, a DVI-D and a DisplayPort cable for digital connection, an audio cable, a USB cable, an external device cable, a getting started guide, the guarantee terms, a safety manual and a CD. The CD contains a detailed manual and the monitor driver.
