REVIEW: HP Pavilion w2207
++ very good, + good, +/- satisfactory, - bad, -- very bad
Hewlett Packard is staying abreast of the uninterrupted demand for 22-inch widescreen monitors: The newest addition to HP’s monitor family is the w2207 and boasts a range of special features to strongly defy the many competing models.
As with all available 22-inch models at present, the HP w2207 possesses a fast-responding Twisted Nematic (TN) panel, which makes it an interesting option for office and gaming applications.
The glare screen of the w2207, on the other hand, is rather an exception, as are the height adjustment and pivot function it features. In the widescreen 22-inch sector, only few models boast these features.
Apart from the analogue image quality, which was tested on the analogue connection (VGA), all test results published here were obtained via the digital signal (DVI) input. We tested the monitor using an ATI Sapphire Radeon X1950 PRO 512MB with the latest driver software.
The HP w2207 comes complete with power cable and a D-Sub cable for the analogue and a DVI-D cable for the digital signal. An audio and a USB cable are also included as well as a hard copy of the guarantee and information booklet.
A CD-ROM containing the monitor driver, the MyDisplay software and a detailed user guide in PDF format completes the scope of supply.
