REVIEW: Eizo HD2442W-TS Part 15The Eizo HD2442W makes a very good impression in almost all sections and is a worthy follower for the HD2441W. In the multimedia sector, which is the main area of application for the HD2442W, the monitor sets standards with its outstanding performance. Regardless of which digital video signal is played back, the Eizo manages everything with ease and also offers excellent image quality. Compared to the previous model, the new features are rather moderate. The most important difference is the remote control as well as support of 24 Hz image material. Eizo has not included a panel with an extended colour space on the 24-inch model, but this is not necessarily a disadvantage. Users are finding the colours on Wide Gamut models too intense time and time again. Even if the monitor is not an alternative for graphics workers, the Eizo HD2442W still manages to cover 100 percent of the sRGB colour space and even achieves UGRA certification.
Advertisement There are only a very small number of critical points. However, it is clear that the points we have criticised were already mentioned for the previous model. Thus, changing the tilting angle in combination with the height adjustment on the ArcSwing base is somewhat difficult and offers too much scope horizontally. The brightness distribution could still be a little better in the lower part of the panel, but this is the highest level of complaint that we have. From our point of view, free positioning of the OSD on the screen would be an important feature and should also be realisable without great technical outlay. Because of the input lag of a maximum of 3 fps, the monitor is not amongst the top choices for professional gamers. Here, there are better alternatives, though not necessarily in the 24-inch sector. If you are looking for a very good 24-inch monitor for multimedia use, can live without analogue connections and are prepared to pay 1,000 Euro for it, the Eizo HD2442W is the perfect choice. Overall rating: VERY GOOD
