Das eingesetzte S-PVA-Panel sorgt für eine subjektiv sehr gute Bildqualität. Die Farben wirken lebendig, Homogenität und Ausleuchtung überzeugen auf den ersten Blick in allen Belangen. Die Helligkeit ist in der Werkseinstellung auf 100 Prozent gesetzt und dementsprechend zu hell. Dies lässt sich aber durch ein Absenken schnell ausgleichen.

We measured the brightness distribution at 15 measuring points after reducing the monitor’s brightness to 22 percent in order to achieve a value of 140 cd/m². When measurements were carried out, the gamma value fluctuated between 2,1 and 2,3. Details on this can be found in the enlarged view of the image.
The values measured demonstrated a maximum deviation of 14 percent. It can be seen clearly that the brightness in the lower section decreases visibly. In the upper two thirds of the panel surface, the measured values are very stable. Overall, the result can be considered good.
According to the manufacturer’s information, the maximum viewing angle is 178 degrees, both horizontal and vertical. This means that the monitor is predestined for optimal playback from almost any viewing angle.

The viewing angle photos document the strengths of the S-PVA panel more than clearly: the Eizo HD2442W demonstrates as good as no change in image quality from various viewing angles. Even at extremely sharp viewing angles, the image simply loses a little contrast. The colours remain identical, however, and there is no darkening.
The perfect viewing angle is one of the strengths of the Eizo HD2442W. It allows the 24-inch model to be used as a TV set in your living room without further consideration, since even viewers who are positioned to the side will still receive perfect image playback. Although the monitor itself has no TV tuner, you can simply procure a DVD recorder to connect via HDMI.
We then checked the colour fidelity of the Eizo HD2442W and tested how well the LCD monitor could be calibrated. The results are mainly of interest for graphics and photo editing. They are largely negligible for office use and games, since the subjective impression is more important for both.
We measured the maximum colour space of the LCD monitor and compared it with the ISO Coated printing colour space and the sRGB colour space.
