The LCD must be manually adjusted to a horizontal position when the pivot function is being used.
All connectors on the LCD as well as the cable routing on the back ca be hidden behind covers, giving the NEC LCD2470WNX a tidy look from the back as well and making it suitable for use at service offices (e.g. a medical practice).

The cables disappear completely behind an elegant cover.
The base is made entirely of plastic and is relatively light, but is quite stable and the monitor only swings back slightly when the desk is bumped. The screw holes on the base confirm to the VESA standard, which means that an alternative mount can also be used.
The power LED of the LCD2470WNX glows green, is not too bright and its brightness can also be dimmed in the OSD. According to the manufacturer, the maximum power consumption is 92 watts, but we measured just 89 watts in our test.
In standby mode, the power consumption is 1 watt and when switched off, the monitor still uses 0.7watts according to our measurements. Since the LCD has no power switch, a multiway connector must be used in order to remove the monitor completely from the mains.

The MultiSync LCD2470WNX does not function completely noiselessly. As well as a humming noise at particular brightness settings, the monitor also hums slightly at full brightness when particular, very contrast-rich patterns are being displayed. However, since patterns such as the one in the picture below almost never arise, this issue is hardly of any significance.

The manufacturing quality and mechanics of the NEC LCD2470WNX make a very good impression. The cover is solid and can be adjusted with ease. The hidden connectors and cable routing give the monitor a tidy appearance. Since you have to tilt the screen fully back in order to use the pivot function, the monitor is only conditionally suitable for locations near a wall if you use this function often.
