REVIEW: NEC LCD2470WNX![]()
++ very good, + good, +/- satisfactory, - bad, -- very bad NEC has now entered the mainstream market with a 24-inch monitor in the form of the MultiSync LCD2470WNX. Like the popular Dell 2407WFP, this monitor features a Samsung S-PVA panel, which gives it a high contrast ratio of 1,000:1 and brightness of up to 500 cd/m².
Advertisement The core features of this NEC 24-inch monitor also include Overdrive and a related 6 ms response time as well as extensive viewing angles of 176 degrees. Thanks to its complete range of ergonomic functions, the LCD2470WNX will find application in the office area in particular. NEC has a not undeserved reputation for producing excellent all-round monitors and as such, the MultiSync 2470WNX will certainly also not just be used for office work. You can learn about which areas of application the 24-inch monitor is suitable for and whether or not the title of “All-round” is justified in our detailed PRAD review. With the exception of the analogue image quality, which was tested via the analogue (D-Sub VGA) connection, all results published here were obtained in digital mode via DVI-D. We used an Nvidia GeForce 7800GT graphics card with two DVI-I outputs. The NEC LCD2470WNX comes in a simple cardboard box which is lined generously with anti-static foil. When you lift the monitor out of its packaging, you will find both a D-Sub and a DVI-D cable, a USB cable for the integrated USB hub, a printed multi-lingual installation guide and a CD containing software.
