In portrait mode, there is ample space to display a Din A4 page.

Working with several applications is simple and clear. A Word document finds space beside a browser window without any problem. Photos can be displayed in large format without a shortage of space for palettes, tools or other windows.

High-resolution images can be displayed in large format.

Responsiveness

A typical response time of 6 ms black-white is advertised for the S-PVA panel in the Hyundai W241D. In order to achieve this value, Hyundai uses an overdrive solution. This can be controlled in the OSD (RTC on/ RTC off). In many screens which offer this option, only marginal changes are observed in the result.

In the case of the Hyundai W241D, it quickly becomes visible that the RTC option was not implemented without reason. When RTC is active, unpleasant artefacts soon become visible, which give rise to visible corona effects. These are already visible on the desktop when windows are being moved (especially at the edges). With a deactivated RTC, these artefacts are largely reduced, but no not disappear. However, they have to be provoked. The conclusion is that this switch only controls the "aggressiveness" of the overdrive technology and there is no complete deactivation.

Our recommendation is therefore to use the Hyundai W241D with deactivated RTC. We did not perceive any disimprovement in the response speed in our various games tests.

The display quality in games is very good. This includes display in dark surfaces as well as the display of small, fine details. Thanks to the excellent black value and the good illumination, dark games can also be enjoyed in full quality.

Like all hold-type models with static backlights, the Hyundai W241D also demonstrates slight motion blur, but this is not critical.
