With the L227WTP-PF, LG is bringing the successor for its popular gaming monitor L227WT to the market. The 22-inch can achieve a dynamic contrast ratio of 30.000:1 which is a significant improvement on the value for the previous model (10.000:1). Otherwise, there are no new developments when the models are compared directly.

Thanks to the integrated CCFL lamps and the Wide Color Gamut panel technology, the L227WTP should have a colour space that is 39 percent larger than that of conventional LCDs. Thus, the NTSC colour space is covered by up to 100 percent.

Through its glossy look and flat design, the "new" L227 will appeal to gamers and multimedia users in particular. With a response time of just 2 ms, the 22-inch model – like its predecessor – is aimed at gamers with high demands.

We recently acquired the LG L227WTP-PF and will show in our detailed PRAD review how the model performs and how it differs from the previous model.

Scope of supply

Despite its very compact box, the LG L227WTP is stowed very securely between two Styrofoam sections. The box also contains a pillar and rotating plate, power, DVI and D-Sub cables, a CD with software, a Quick Set-up guide and the guarantee card.

The box of the L227WTP-PF is hardly bigger than the monitor itself.

In order to begin using the monitor, the "infamous" construction of the base for the monitor which we encountered with the predecessor L227WT and with the W2452V.

Here, the small plastic pillar must be pushed into its counterpiece on the monitor. Afterwards, the wobbly rotating plate is placed on the pillar and then you are finished. After the monitor is connected, the cables can be stowed in the cable routing fixture and covered with the plastic cover that is included.
